Studios 121 currently manages space segment on Galaxy 23, transponder 18. Our uplink signal is a C Band digital MCPC signal.

Transponder Platform Tenants:
Studios 121 currently uplinks various 24 hour networks including the Spanish language children’s channel, ¡Sorpresa! and America One

Transponder Protection Level:
Our satellite is full-time, non-preemptible.

Fiber Transmission:
To provide the best pricing and redundancy to our clients, we work with multiple fiber and IP service providers such as AT&T, Time Warner Telecom, Level 3/Vyvx Services, AboveNet, Genesis Networks and others providing worldwide connectivity.

Disaster Recovery:
master_controlWe offer dedicated fiber backup for disaster recovery. Emergency switch over (hot drop) can be executed at anytime on a 24/7 basis to several uplinks.

Compression standard:
Studios 121 utilizes Cisco/Scientific Atlanta’s PowerVu Plus digital compression standard.

Encryption/Authorization/De-authorization:
Studios 121 provides encryption to its clients and will offer the client free setup on the first 100 receivers.

Uninterruptible Power Infrastructure:
Studios 121 offers 100% power plant back up to its master control and transmission areas using a 120 KVAEaton Powerware parallel redundant UPS system. Additionally, the entire production and broadcast facility and all equipment are supported by a 500 KW diesel Generac Power Systems back up generator which boasts an 8-second startup response time and automatic transfer switch (ATS) in the absence of utility power. At the current broadcast load of 30KVA, the UPS system has an approximate run time of 50 minutes which provides ample protection considering the generator’s ATS response time. In the circumstance of a complete power outage, the 500KW generator can sustain the facility’s 80KW load for more than five days without refueling.
